This list is current as of 1996, and from publically available information provided from NTIS and the USCG.

Vessel Database

The US Coast Guard has recently (11/22/2005) certified the Victoria Star of Bellingham, WA to run on the dual fuel system (diesel or vegetable oil). The 96 foot vessel is operated as a tour boat for whale watching and ferry service in the Vancouver area. In a recent survey, passengers were polled regarding the use of more environmentally friendly fuels, and the overwhelming response was positive - respondents agreed to pay a extra $20 for the use of green fuel. The passenger vessel has 1,500 installed propulsion HP and has a dual tank system of both diesel and vegetable oil.
